That is one of my all time favorite steel solos. There was a discussion here once about who played that solo on the album. Milo Deering and Paul Franklin were the two candidates but was there ever a definitive answer? I have never heard anyone else exactly replicate that solo the way it goes on the album. After much wrestling with it I've come pretty close, as have a lot of others but I'd love to sit across from the guy who laid down that track and see just what he did. |

I believe Junior said Milo played on the record. Milo said he stole the lick from Junior. That's the story I got. |

Oops! I didn't realize that Junior Knight was ever credited with the original lick. My apologies if that is the case. A good many steelers have shared the stage with Leanne Rimes and I just assumed that Junior Knight was the player on that particular stage. Great stuff at any rate. |

Larry is right. Milo was the original player and yes he said he stole the lick from Jr. He and I talked about that years ago when he was a guest in Hot Springs at Ronnie's steel guitar show. Great song and a great solo ride. _________________ Mullen Royal Precision D10 Red Lacquer Pearl inlay 8&8
