Does the Black Widow 1501 come in more than one model? I've seen SB (shallow basket), DT (not sure what that is).

Which one for pedal steel?

DT means Deep Throw, allowing a bit more in-and-out movement of the coil (if you throw too much power in low notes, a speaker can send the voice coil beyond the magnet, and if it doesn't return perfectly, that's the end of that cone). I'm not sure we need the Deep Throw.
I'd only put the Shallow Basket in an amp lacking room for the full one.

Once upon a time I would only use JBL's until I found the 1501-4 SB....Awesome speaker for steel guitar....!

They both work for steel, Doug Jones and I like the DT series a lot, I use 2 in my Walker system. I think the DT tends to beam the sound more forward, but that is just me.
