Folks, so I had this Trapezoid coil rewound by Tom Brantley and I have nothing else to compare with( like A-B).
To compare the Rick A-22, Rick has significantly more gain and therefore louder/focused and clean.Trap is clean but not much gain to it, not enough focus/note definition...
Is it due to the design of the Trapezoid PU with strings through the coil and not vibrating over magnets like later Stringmaster??
Anyone can shed some light on this for me please?? |

Rick Aiello posts pretty often on the "steel without Pedals"...I know he is very knowledgable about the Ricky pickups and maybe on the Fender traps as well, so it probably wouldn't hurt to ask his advice. At one time I know he was recharging pickups for folks to bring some of the tired old pickups back to life. Guys with his knowledge are very valuable. I would start there. |

Of course! He's the expert- I don't know he still takes pickup jobs but I'll drop him a line.
Trapezoid pu magnets are x2 spacers between covers, I should check the polarity too.
Does anyone know the orientation?? |
