I have a new to me U12 p/p Emmons and I would like to add a slight lower to the 7th string F# on the A pedal, just to sweeten the pedals down minor/6th chord.
I've had it on all my guitars for ages so I'm having a hard time not having it on the p/p.
The push/pull mechanics are still a mystery to me, so tell me how hard a modification would adding the compensator be?
Thanks,

It is no different than adding another lower to any pedal. The mechanics for a compensator are exactly the same as for a raise or lower.
Adding a lower is a bit more challenging than adding a raise, because the lower is buried in the clutter, but it's doable.
First you need to add a bell crank to the cross shaft. Then install a lower rod. Then tune. That's oversimplifying it a bit, but you can do it. It's not rocket science. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

Getting that lowering rod in will be much easier if you pull the end plate. Add a bell crank to your A pedal Cross shaft and your lowering rod and you be in business. _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Getting the timing spot on by positioning the collar on the new lowering rod would be a nightmare, unless you can put a fine tuner (sometimes called a half-tone tuner) on the bellcrank.
It's the sort of job that you wait to do as you compile a list of all the mods that you want to do, then do them all in one go.
Or just leave it ....... |

The job is not hard but is greatly compounded in a crowded 12 string single wide body guitar. There is a guy that sells snap on bell cranks for about 100.
Getting your fingers in there is the trick. Probably can use a pair of forceps. |

Just did this last night on my P/P. Use the bellcrank on your A pedal for your high E. You just need a little push and this is simple to do. You will need a push rod, 3 collars, and 1 spacer.
