Asking all steel players to please keep an eye out for Norm’s gigging pedal:
Model: FP-100 MNPSB-HB
Serial number: 640330

Norm has two FP-100 pedals, one he keeps at home, the other he takes to gigs.
These days he flies to the gigs, keeping the pedal in his pac-seat, which is checked as luggage.

When he arrived at his last flyaway gig destination, he opened his seat and his pedal was missing and a claim was filed accordingly. That’s all we know at this point. It is possible that it was removed by TSA and simply not put back in the seat, it may have been stolen, obviously, we have no way of knowing at this point.

So please take note of any pedals turning up in pawn shops, on Craig’s list, EBay, yard sales, swap meets, etc. Norm would very much appreciate the recovery of his gigging pedal – it has been with him on a lot of gigs and we all know how up close and personal a favorite pedal gets to be.

Historically, these pedals are kept fairly close to the vest and theft is a rarity. When theft has been involved, we have been able ultimately to recover the pedal in virtually all cases.
The serial number is stamped on an aluminum Telonics label which is placed on the right side of the pedal, close to the rear. It is also stamped on a small white label which is placed just inside the rear of the pedal, on the base.
In addition to various covert ID methodologies, the serial number and a great deal of related information are encoded into the electronics within the pedal, so even if the external labels are removed or disfigured, we are still able to extract all such information when a pedal is “recovered” (even from a severely damaged pedal). This makes it impossible for a thief to destroy the identity of a stolen pedal.

Approximately where do you think the pedal may be?
What were the departing/arriving airports?

Just confirmed that the flight was last Saturday.
Norm's steel and his pac-case (with the pedal in it) were checked in at the Nashville TN airport and claimed at Tulsa, OK airport last Saturday. No further information at this time.
If folks in those areas can check places where such gear might surface, Craig's list, etc., that would be much appreciated.

Dave,

I added saved searches to eBay & Reverb and if any pop up I will let you know.

None are on Craig's list nationwide. You can search all of Craig's list at this site:

http://www.searchcraigslist.org/

Or from Google enter:

site:craigslist.org Telonics FP-100

Google will crawl every Craig's List page for your search term.

I wish more manufacturers would do this.

Thank you Tony, great ideas.
By keeping our eyes peeled, we have recovered pedals after a year or more in the past, so we'll just keep watching.
