I'm getting ready to order an Excel S10 E9 and wanted to know about peoples experiences with the 24-1/8" scale vs. 25-1/2" scale and what your preference is and why.

Thanks in advance.

Aaron...not too sure on your particular question, but I tried an Excel S-12, and the strings are a tad closer together than other 12 stringers Wink

I have an S12, and it's long scale. Before this guitar, I had a Mullen, and an Emmons that I still have. Moving to the longer scale was not really a challenge, but you definitely feel the difference, in the space between frets.

Since you're getting an S10, I don't really see a reason to go with the long scale, unless you want something different.

If you were going with a 12 string, I'd say that there would be some improvement in tightness in the fat strings, from the higher tension. But for an E9th 10 string, I'd stick with the short scale.
