Hi. First let me state that I do not want to start (another) tuning war here. I would like however to try Jeff's temperament on my steel. I have a Cleartune tuner app, and have put in custom settings according to Jeff's chart, one set for open strings, and one set for pedal / lever changes, again according to the chart.

My question is, there is also a setting for "temperament key" in the app...I'm assuming (probably a bad idea) that this should be set to E, since the guitar uses an E9 tuning?

Thanks.

Unless you plan on moving the whole neck up or down later, it doesn't matter. You're putting in values for departure from ET for each note.
The only time key would matter is if you wanted to port your presets to A9th baritone steel. So call it E so you can transpose it later, but that's unlikely.
