Those of you that are plugging your dobros in what are you using for a pick-up?

The Fishman Nashville pickup is the standard among professional players. There are many other competing pickups but this is the best.

I think the best entry level buy for a gig-able Dobro with a factory installed Fishman Nashville pickup, is the Gretsch Bobtail G9230.
I have played a handful of gigs with one and it works well with an amp for a band situation. No battery needed either.

I've had great results with the Gretsch outfitted with the Fishman Nashville pick up PLUS the Fishman Jerry Douglas Aura pedal thru a Fishman Loudbox amp.

I use the Fishman. It sounds better with the Jerry box or Aura Spectrum, which also has dobro imaging. Without those it is far from unusable. I've used it both ways on small and big stages. I usually put it direct in the PA with no amp, just monitor.

I guess I'm from the old school.
I still have this pickup on some dobros:

My recently developed schtick on Dobro is more about gigging and playing whatever song is called, on an acoustic slide instrument (as a life-long Pedal Steel gig player), so although I tried the JD Aura, I am finding I can play the 9230 right into a Volume pedal and into an amp.
It doesn't need to sound that Dobro-ee for me personally, beyond the fact that it is a Resonator Guitar with a pickup.
I think I might get a New Silver Face Princeton Reverb, and a Senheyser 609 mic (the flat faced one), as my Dobro rig. I don't think I really need an acoustic-amp for my own thing, although they do sound great.
I have been running it into a Sarno SMS Classic Pre-amp, and to the power-amp-in of various amps I have here... sounds great.
