There was a review of the new "Cars" movie in today's Los Angeles Times. One paragraph reads: "There are also a lot of amusing visual references on screen ... Watching a forklift play pedal steel guitar in an automotive country western band is a treat."

Very cool -- can't wait to see it! Smile

Hey, Ben -- Always great to hear from you! Hope all is well. I am an older Dad -- I have a 10-year-old! So I have an excuse to go see kids' movies! LOL!

My son and I went to a screening yesterday -- really sweet movie. The scene in the bar is great. The forklift was playing something more akin to a lap steel -- it was really fun to watch! Great touch.

During the end credits, there is a short pedal steel part in the score -- sounded really cool. Randy Newman is the composer and he has an amazing ability to weave in authentic regional music in his scores. If you listen to the music in "The Princess and The Frog," he really catches the vibe of New Orleans.

A forklift playing a steel guitar? The player was well-equipped to be hauling around a Session 500 to play through!

There is an episode of "The Simpsons" where Homer has an affair with country singer Lurleen Lumpkin. During the performance scene, there is a steel player onstage;you can see it in this clip. The music is pretty good..
