IIRC, the two leads are of different lengths so that it will only hook up one way as long as the jacks face front. If you've replaced the cables, I dunno.

In the diagram Ken Fox posted recently, if you are looking at the back of the amp and the pan jacks are facing the front of the amp as they should be the input jack is on the left side of the tank. I think Mike Brown also posted on this a few months back.

The tank is labeled. I need to know about the jacks on the chassis.

If you hook it up backwards it will hum...so just reverse the cables.

Viewed from rear.... right side of pan connected to input jack closest to rear of amp and mine is also marked with red marker. Don't know if that's factory, though.

Take the RCA cable loose from the tank. Turn up the reverb on the amp and touch the two lead tips. The one that makes noise goes to the tank output.

The tank will in fact work backward, but will have a bit if hum. In the case of a Fender tube amp it will not work at all backwards.
