"Short Memory" recorded in 1964 is one the best 2 step shuffles I've ever heard. Perfectly arranged..... the haunting pedal steel of Pete Drake...great drum and bass beat and vocal accompany. Hope u like it as well.

Wouldn't that steel sound better if you add some reverb?

I love Dave Dudley and love his entire Mercury catalog. Years ago I transfered all his albums to CD. He's so overlooked and they've never released any of his Mercury albums on CD. Such a shame. I always loved Talk of the Town because of all the steel on there. He didn't use much steel on his other albums. Thanks for sharing.

Never heard that one, but I agree, that is a great one.

Kind Regards, Walter

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2tk2mPW3oQ Not sure if this is Pete Drake with his "talking steel", but it probably is.

I have never realised before just how much Dave Dudley sounds like Jim Reeves.
