Thanks for sharing the video. This band has it going on. I enjoy hearing steel guitar in different musical contexts. If you don't have time to listen to the full song at least check out the solo at 2:40.

Roosevelt has th chops of Robert Randolph and is pushing the limits musically. I was playing some gigs with one of the guitar players last year and he was telling me about the project. I had no idea how bad ass it was going to be.

Bob, thanks for sharing, this is out of sight. As is the record Rosie did with Andy Hall (Infamous Stringdusters) at John's studio recently... had tonight off and it was a real pleasure to check out that record and this new group!

In 2008, I was playing a the Chicago Blues Festival with Catherine Russell (Harlem royalty for sure) I finished the set and this very humble African-American guy comes up to me backstage and says "You're playing a Franklin, how do you like it?" I said I loved it and wondered why he was interested. He said he plays a Carter and he's interested in all brands of pedal steels because he was thinking of getting a new steel. I was thinking that I was the only PSG player at the festival. Then this humble guy turns out to be Roosevelt Collier and plays the next set with The Lee Boys. I was totally knocked out by the band and especially by Roosevelt. I'll never forget that moment and I was totally humbled by his talent. Lesson learned. Never judge a book by its cover.
This new band sounds fantastic and I simply have to catch them live.
