I've posted this song before and am posting it again and proposing a challenge.
The evolution of this song started as a hammer-on exercise for lap steel, in C6th, to find different chords to use hammer-ons with.
There are also some slants.
THE CHALLENGE:
Whoever is the first to make a recording of it and post it on "Steel without pedals", to my satisfaction (in tune with good timing), and have three random forum members approve on the forum, I will Paypal that person $40.
BONUS: For an extra $20, tab it out.
Here's the song: http://picosong.com/MzU5/

That's quite a challenge.
Was your version not good enough for you? Shocked I liked it, personally. You get the forty dollars IMO. The twenty sounds like work.

That's a long song to transcribe any notation/chords at least to make the leg work shorter
or do we get zero guidance?

Not sure what you want here?

A replica version with Hammer ons or without?

Chords etc.

Learning it like you were learning a steel song from a record, playing it with or without accompaniment.
Also, many people can easily record on their 'puters or know somebody who who knows how.

Ouch so a replica.

Any tuning doesn't matter but just a replica.

No song guides like Key/ Song structure Chords etc. As when I'm figuring out parts from records I usually have a version somewhere that shows the key and song structure

How much will you give me not to play it? I've been asked to cease by some of the best musicians in the country.

Come on, boys. Someone step up and take this fella's money. Can't be that hard. I'd do it myself but I have this sporting injury. (to be read in the voice of Chief Wigan) (Edited for clarity)

I am tempted but am a bit busy transcribing some other material.

I agree with you Guy. It isn't as difficult as it may seem however I'm quite slow in transcribing long pieces. So don't see myself diligently doing this song now as I already promised myself I would finish the one I'm currently working on.

But I'll check back and see how this goes later on.

Get better Guy.

You are a tablature force of nature, Guy!

Thank you for all the help you've given in me in tweaking chord progressions and notation in my arrangements. ' Hope you heal quickly!

And Chris, MH is a very cool tune!

Deadpan humour doesn't go over all that well in print without emojis. Embarassed You've heard the old un-PC joke about the Italian national soccer team that, after going a going a goal down, every player develops a limp? That is the nature of my injury. I doubt that I could get close to Chris' speed and cleanliness without a whole lot of practice. I don't know how close I could get, really. The playing is superb and the richness of tone of the slower passages is also standout. The result, no doubt, of years of effort. The chart, on the other hand, is meat and drink. Didn't take long to do that, especially due to the precision of the performance.

Thanks, Guy. The 3 days it would have taken to tab the tune I can now use to learn that first line of hammers and pulls. Cool

Cheers, Fred. It is quite a workout! If you want a better copy (bigger tab numbers, uniform sized pages) send me an email.
