Unless he gets a lot of bids over the next 12 hours or so, he'll be making a loss on it.
It will be interesting to keep track of how much it goes for. |

Oh no! This makes me sick! The 1973 Pro II is one of the most sought after vintage Buds ever for tone, etc. The body looks to be in pretty good shape too.
This is a guitar I would have been VERY interested in before he tore it all apart. What a shame.
I need to go lay down... |

Got to wonder if all those bids are legit, or there's some shill bidding going on.
Did anybody take the time to add up all the various parts and see what the whole thing would cost if you bought it all up? |

It totals about $1500 right now at ~6:50 PST, 1/2 hour to go. Only one keyhead there, no tuning machines, but everything else to re-assemble an 8x4 guitar.
The aggregate shipping cost for all the little bits is about ~$475. Shipping cost for just the leg bag $18. Bargain! There is also the fine print about customs and that any as-yet-undetermined import duties are the responsibility of the buyer. |

My hope is that we Forum members won't bid on his posts. Yes, I realize there are non-Forum members who might bid but hopefully this guy will not not make as much due to less demand for his listings as he had hoped.
Are there other alternatives Stringmaster owners could use to buy these parts but not from this EBay guy. Steve t |

It was scary enough when it was non pedals and now pedal steels. Its obvious they will buy and part out almost any steel at this point. I would not be surprised at all if they start parting out even more high end steels. I too would like to hear more about the availability of parts other than the ebay people. |

There is no shortage of steel guitars, except perhaps Bigsbys.
There are guys looking for Sho-Bud pedals and keyheads and other parts. Read the ads in Want To Buy on this forum.
If you want a Fender Stringmaster, you can find one easily. If you want one for $300, you are not being realistic. If you want a Sho-Bud Pro II, you can find one in minutes. Trying to create a crisis because one is being parted out is silly.
If I have to hear the argument that another precious instrument is removed from the world and cannot accomplish its purpose in the hands of a musician, I will gag. A real steel guitar player can play any steel guitar, and again, the world has no shortage of steel guitars.
Except guitars like that fine thing b0b just got. _________________ Chris Lucker

While I hate to see a good instrument scrapped, I dare say steel guitars are being removed from the world at a slower rate than steel guitar players are. |
