It's great that a song has won on musical interest and not just gimmick (unless you count general flakiness).
The music itself is a curious medley of harmonic clichés, rather like a salad prepared by a Martian who has not actually tasted any Earth plants.
I have travelled little, but I have been to Portugal a few times and they seem like a friendly and deserving people. They are now saddled with hosting the next one. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

It seems less cliché-ridden than most pop music, and certainly more harmonically interesting than the rootsy stuff that steel guitar players are usually confronted with.
And it was cool to hear the male voice an octave higher than the female. |

I agree, Earnest. Although they don't quite gel into a coherent style, the clichés are of a sophisticated order. I'm delighted that a song has won as a piece of music, not just as a feat of presentation. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
