I didn't get any tab with mine. I didn't think it came with tab. It would be a lot more useful if it did.

I think the early editions didnt have tab.
But the later ones do. I have noticed that on "steelguitarcanada.com" and a couple of other places.

I got this VHS tape from Scotty's a couple of years ago listed as "with tab", but no tab was provided. When I called to find out about the missing tab I was told it didn't have any and that the course description was in error.
Some nice pickin' on the tape but really pretty useless for a student without the tab. I'd say it's more of a demonstration video.
I have come to agree with Tom Bradshaw in giving instruction material when no tablature is provided a D/F rating, (on a grade scale of A-best to D/F-worst). He wrote in his Steel Guitar Resource Book, "Selling this inadequate and unaceptable instruction material shortchanges the student, and defeats the goal of achieving musical legitimacy for the steel guitar."
So I try not to buy anything without tab these days.

You guys that say "no tab came with it" are correct.
Great playing, but little explaination on this one also.
If no tab is provided, the instuuctor should explain a lot in detail. |
