I love steel guitar! But man, if it doesn't come off as the squarest instrument since the accordion!

Thanks MLA for all the literature!

Mike Neer posted..."I love steel guitar! But, man, if it doesn't come off as the squarest instrument since the accordion!' That's why it's up to a few of us to NOT dress like Jerry Byrd, and NOT go to his barber, and quit whining about country music dying out and all that crap, and playing the same old Hawaiian "standards".

It's not the instrument's fault, it was popular in some "dorky" times as far as fashion, hairstyles, culture, and packaging/presentation go. People back then were thick, dull, and greasy. Those times did produce some cool instruments and music but just about everything else was crap.
OK, I got this started. About a thousand images up. Not in alphabetical order, not categorized, totally random as they were pulled from files in the order they were loaded in for various projects. Posted here before I put them in the MAC's trashcan to free up space. My computer seems to need a lot of updating and I have a few trips back and forth to Nashville coming up so I won't be putting up much, if anything, for a couple weeks. Somebody else has to have some cool stuff in the meantime.

I just finished answering all emails and PMs about this thread, now for those who posted here...
Doug B...That Mary Andriano photo is in several teacher's rooms and published in multiple books.and magazines in japan. At one time my teacher Ray Gaitsch had a huge framed portrait of her, bigger than 2' X 2" if I remember. It used to be in the window of his store/studio. She was his "star pupil" and went on to become one of his instructors. I have to check with the family and see what happened to it.
Jack Hanson...That IS Earl Hooker. "The Greatest Blues Guitar Player To Ever Walk The Face Of The Earth', with Freddie Roulette, that one dates to 1968.
Levi Gemmell...I have two boxes, maybe 60 or so BMGs, in storage in California. The stuff I posted was only a sampling as i didn't put much of it into my computer.
Everybody else...there's plenty more where this came from, just a question of getting it either out of the computer and posted. Or getting it out of storage and shipped here, unpacked and sorted and posted. I haven't added a single image to this computer since early 2014. Multiple non-functional digital cameras, out of space, too busy with the weekends and a day job. So, somebody else please take over for a week or two and keep this thing going.
