Wow!

Is the White guitar basically a rebranded Studio Deluxe with a special plastic bridge cover? What Fender-branded amp does the White compare to?

Thank you, Mr. Allen. Your guitar appears nearly identical to my Studio Deluxe. Aside from the plastic pickup/bridge cover, the main difference is mine was painted candy apple red somewhere along the line. It was a rescue guitar that I purchased gutted of all its electronic components. I installed a Strat-style blade pickup from Vintage Vibe, and new pots, cap, and jack. It sounds great, especially through a small tube amp.

A closer inspection reveals that the tuner pans are different, and the headstocks have a slightly different profile.

Very cool set - I'm jealous.

I'd say it's a re-branded Champ - their student guitar.

The Deluxe had 2 pickups and metal tuner knobs.

I'd say the amp is a re-branded Champ too.

The White amp looks like a 5F2-A Princeton given tone control (not present on a tweed Champ) and three tubes.
Nifty shape!

Just how I like to find a guitar, Ready for TLC & DNA Removal.

After that I get bored with them and go after something else!!!

I've owned three White steels in the past and all of them sounded very thin to my ear. Not much sustain either. Or maybe it just wasn't the sound I was looking for. I've never had a White amp, but if it sounds anything like a tweed Princeton it's a winner! The White set (steel & amp) is becoming very collectable.
