Maybe I need to go ahead and make photos and post them here as I am getting too many inquiries to reply to. As far as a price I don,t have a clue. It will probably be Tuesday before I can add photos....thanks jack....as some of you know I have been trying to sell my 1974 pp, I have had quite a bit of interest but only low ball offers. Both of these guitars sound and play great. If anyone is REALLY interested please let me know. |

Nice, clean guitar.
Invoice #2052, cut-tail, what year would that be? You mentioned 1974, was that for this guitar?
I have invoice #2255 and it's a bolt-on 1966. Mine also has the 3 screw-on name plate. |

Can you read the code # on the tone control? IF it is original it might hold a clue.
I'm thinking yours might be a 1965 cut-tail and worth $$$$ |

Garry, where would the number be located on the pot? Some one at sometime has soldered the ground wires to the bottom of it. I can take it out to check it, just want to make sure I am looking in the right place....thanks jack |

I believe Cut tails began in 1967.
This from Chris Lucker re: serial numbers...

That does not look like the original tone control pot so I would just leave it alone.
I see that this subject has been aired a few times in the past. Check this one out, very informative:

I know, it look like a 71 era but where's the "D"... if it were really old it would be a bolt on or have a decal. Don't listen to me I don't know what Im talking about LOL _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

I'd say that's a really late 60's or early 70's cuttail. It doesn't have the wide pedals though which may make it even later. Emmons serial and invoice numbers are very misleading. That could have been an end plate that got pulled off shelf in 1978. You just won't know until you get it straight from Emmons on sale date. _________________ Henry Matthews

Definitely not a 65. It's definitely later than 69 due to the patten number and such first cut tail didn't appear till around 67. Serial number could simply be a end plate from that Era. |
