"Sweet Memories" was written by country artist Mickey Newbury. Apart from country versions by Willie Nelson, The Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Ray Charles and others, a Hawaiian version with some touching falsetto passages was recorded by Hawaiian artist Oliver Kelly and the Nihau Brothers. A great instrumental version was recorded by Brazilian pedal steel guitarist Adair Torres.
This is my instrumental arrangement with the lead on a West Coast Steelocaster and a Charvel Jackson acoustic steel. Accompanying tracks were played with a custom Martin rhythm guitar and a Roland E-09 sampler for strings, percussion, vibraphone, and voices. I played all tracks. Keys of A, D, and E.
