I have no affiliation with this Ebay listing. I just find it a little odd. A nylon strung squareneck. My first thought was that someone who didn't know any better just slapped a set of nylon strings on it in an attempt to play it as a standard guitar. The bridge, though, looks like the typical classical guitar bridge. It appears to be a one-off.
Just curious. Did others experiment with this idea way back when? I can't imagine getting much sustain.

I have an old Oahu squareneck that was apparently played like a standard guitar.
The nut was ground off to place the strings closer to the fretboard.
I understand that some of these guitars had the neck reshaped to facilitate underarm playing.
