Topic: Recovered My Stolen Emmons |

Hi everyone….
I have my Emmons p/p back, purchased in 1978, and sorely missed for almost two years. Stolen and recovered, apparently miracles DO happen.
I need to give thanks to the Steel Guitar community as a whole, to everyone who contributed to the FreeFunder page, to all the wonderful comments posted, and especially to Jack Stanton and Bob Williams, who were both ‘instrumental’ in the recovery of my guitar.
For those interested, Bob started the FreeFunder page on my behalf, Jack saw the description of my Emmons and realized he innocently had purchased it. Jack wanted to send me the guitar at his expense and total loss if need be, but the police (in NJ and NV) did their work, Jack was able to recover his expenses, and the steel guitar was returned to me.
The police kind of took their time, but it gave me a chance to get to know both Jack and Bob, and they are both truly fine men. Small world, Bob saw me play at the Stagecoach Inn in Huntington, LI in about 1975, and Jack saw me play at O’Lunney’s in NYC in perhaps 1979 (with that same Emmons), both were events for the PSGA. I feel flattered and honored that they both remember me from those. The steel guitar community is really something! It’s a good feeling to be remembered.
To Jack, Bob, and everyone out there, a BIG THANK YOU. It’s so nice to be playing my Emmons again. And thanks to the contributions given, I’ll be able to replace the amp and accessories that were taken with the pedal steel but not recovered.
It’s such a hoot!!

Fantastic! BTW, if anyone has seen a black & red sunburst '74 PP 9/6 with wooden necks, Taken from the Gibson factory. in Nashville, in '92, please let me know.

A Similar story if I may chime in to share about how great the steel guitar is.
Circa 1992
Was playing at a church and decided to leave my guitar set up since the meeting was going to be running all week long. I decided to take the serial number down for some reason.
The next morning, I received a call from the pastors wife and said, " Charley, your guitar has been stolen along with other items". I immediately called my friend Jack Bagwell and let him know so he could be on the look out.
3 days later, I got a call from his son Mike Bagwell and said he found my guitar. I went to the music store, identified it and took her home. Sho Bud Super Pro.
Perpetrator was arrested and resulted in 24 other Break in's solved.
Needless to say, I never leave my guitar anywhere. I always take her with me!

Buddy Cage had a similar experience with his Emmons, of which the NYC police dept. helped to recover.

This is really wonderful news Harvey. I was talking with Neil Flanz about your situation just a month ago. I am sure Neil would be happy to hear the good news.
I am curious, can you fill us in on the story of how it came to be stolen so that we can all take heed and learn whatever there is to learn from your situation to better protect ourselves?
Cool story with regard to Jack Stanton having purchased it inadvertently. Hope you are back playing again after this difficult saga.

That is excellent news !!
Heard you play that guitar several times at Mack Sullivan's Palomino Club in New Jersey.
