It looks like the banner in front of the steel said Gene Davis, not sure if that's right, but what a great song, and it also proves how much of a talent Glenn Campbell was even way back then.

When taped in LA, the band was Gene Davis and the Star Routers, which had Red Rhodes on steel. But some shows were taped in Canada, and had Gene Davis, Glen Campbell and other principals use some Canadian musicians for the band. This one is among those shows, and was discussed in another thread somewhere else in Forumland.

Is that a Firebird Campbell is playing? Almost looks like some nasty Italian solid body, but I didn't think most of those came out until after that recording.

That is a Teisco Del Rey T60- They were first built around 1960 I think.. At the time it was their top [or near the top anyway] of the MIJ Teisco solid body line.. bob
