Hello Fellow Friends, Musicians, Forumites,
57 yrs. performing for audiences came to a close yesterday and was a heartbreaking experience for me. When I announced my playing days were over, folks cried and many came up to me and said you can't quit, we're going to miss you. Such a sad experience. It felt like I was letting everyone down, in a way, I was. It sure has been a wonderful adventure, challenging as well as rewarding, and watching people enjoy themselves. It doesn't get any better than this. Kindest regards to all,
Rich Sad

Wow, 57 years is one heckuva career, in any business! Even though I'm not familiar with your career/accomplishments, I wish you the best, Richard!

Sounds like a bittersweet occasion. Good to go out on a high point. "It doesn't get any better than this."

I reckon I wouldn't be surprised if they asked you back. Or if you do it from time to time.

Thank you Charlie, Edward and Walter for your responses. I can't sum it up in a paragraph or a page, it would take a book to cover the 57yrs. of my musical experiences and yes, I remember the chicken wire we played behind-scary for a young lad starting out. Thank you,
Rich

Seriously - have you considered doing just that? It sounds like something I would love to read.
