With the help of Bill Creller, Jason Lollar & my local luthier friend, I recently converted a Rick B6 into a B7 with a 24" scale walnut neck. So now I have some "left over" B6 parts, including a good Bakelite neck, that I've posted at "For Sale: Amps & Accessories." You'll find the listing, with photos, here:

I got interested in this a few years ago after seeing a photo of Dick McIntire playing a Bakelite with a long scale wood neck on an earlier post:

Last summer, I bought a B7 PU mount/ tailpiece from Chris Fouke, then I found a B6 with issues on eBay. So now my "new" B7 has a 24" scale Walnut neck, Ebony fret board, and a new plate Bill made to replace the missing center plate. Jason Lollar wound an awesome new 7-string bobbin for the pickup, and my friend Michael Smith made the walnut neck:

Michael got so interested with this project he just bought a 1942 National New Yorker to start learning to play lap steel.
