Here is a clip from our 1st Annual Steel Guitar Cruise of the great Tommy Dodd.
(sorry it is a little blurred. We did not have real good lighting in the Comedy Club)

You will see why Tommy should be rated right up at the top of the steel guitar world. In my book, he is at the top of the list.

Make your plans to join us in 2018 for the 2nd Annual Steel Guitar Cruise

Nice job by Tommy!

I decided a bunch of years ago that Lineman is one of my 20 all-time favorite songs. If this were the only song Jimmy Webb ever wrote he'd still make my hall of fame.

The melody and chord changes make for a superb instrumental and it's perfect for the steel guitar, going back to the Buddy Emmons version on the 1970 album Suite Steel.

Tommy did a great job as always. I was glad to be sitting
upfront for his set. What a great cruise ,all the players were top notch.

A great performance.Cool

I always have the eerie feeling when I'm watching Tommy that I'm watching myself. He and I look so much alike we could be brothers. Shocked
(Ignore my avatar. It was taken a long, long time ago.)Laughing

If only I had his talent...

I agree with Mark. It's as though Jimmy Webb wrote this with steel guitar in mind. Great changes and an evocative melody.

It was Buddy's solo on Ray Charles' version that made me first want to play pedal steel.

Nice job, Tommy. (I like playing this one too!)
