Does anyone have a suggestion or lead on replacing a tailpiece on a 1950s Fender Professional / Deluxe steel?

I don't know anyone that could fabricate one or what that would cost, and tracking down a part seems like quite the goose chase. Anyone got an idea where to start?

How would you go about getting this thing functional?

Look on the Facebook “Fender Non Pedal Steel” page. A guy there just posted that he has tailpieces for trap pickup Fenders.
He posted here, too! https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=370243&highlight=
