Some of these brands don't seem to offer a .011.5 string. That's a deal breaker for me, I've always preferred them. Also, I like the option to customize any of the gauges in a set.

D'Addario cause that's all my shop carries, and for $9 a set, they'll last for 3mons., about 12 to 20 gigs.

Jagwire for me.

I've used four of the most popular brands over the years. I can't tell the difference in tone, but breakage issues for me are noticeably better with Jagwire.

Granted, I leave strings on way too long. For those that change their strings like they're supposed to, any of the brands mentioned in this thread work fine.

Jagwires became hard to get a few years ago so I migrated to a new brand. But the company is back at full steam now. I've had good service recently:

I have used GHS for years. Recently got some SIT Emmons and like them well. What ever I have I put in a Zip Lock bag. Here in East Central Oklahoma the humidity will put rust spots on them pretty quick. So, How many string manufacture's do we have here in the US?. J.R.

I thought there were only 4 string makers, but in a post on here awhile back, someone else said there were 7. I do know D'Addario makes their own, and no tellin' how many different labels that's made in their factory.
