What a craftsman!
Btw, I've been at the luthiery school he mentions, but not much more came out of it then half a dozen guitars I did build afterwards. The last one sounded pretty fair.
And to Nathan Laudenbach: a friend of mine lives in a village called Laudenbach and he's a banjo builder and a pretty good one.

| great article. I enjoyed reading that and seeing pictures of the great looking instruments. I think Todd's idea of building some steels based around the early 60's design would be cool especially if they had the stratosphere type pickup. The shobuds that had those sounded awesome! |

Thanks C.E . I like checking out your video of your collection and always lust after the Epi Rocco. I remember when the guitar was on Ebay. Glad a forum member picked it up.
David , that is your 10 string on the bench.
Daniel, I'm glad to hear you like the idea of the early Stratospheric style guitar. That sound is like no other, and I love putting out guitars like that.I'm putting a lot of thought into doing it
Thank you Tim. The Cast steels are $1700. I don't think it is against forum rules to post a price by maker, only dealers.
Thanks for the comments, and to any one who read the article. I sure appreciate it. I should have put more shop photos in there. Hopefully there will be a next time and I'll put more in. I have a lot of new projects in the works.

Todd, congrats on the article! Good reading--It's great to see the photos of you working on the guitars in your shop. It gives me an added appreciation for my new (new to me) cast Clinesmith. I hope to visit your shop in person some day.

Wow. Excellent. Someday, I'd like to order a steel guitar from you. I appreciate the old school attention. I've been a standard 6 string guitar player for decades and recently picked up steel. I'm a vintage guitar nut and play vintage music from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Looks like your guitars have that same mojo but without the issues of an old guitar and with the knowledge of the modern-age. Modern day classic, not easy to achieve.
