Installing position dots in Dobro fretboard over screw holes

Need advice on the installation of the two position marker dots that hide the neck attachment screws at both the 15th & 19th frets on an OMI Model 60-DS.

I purchased the correct size pearloid dots from Stew-Mac. What's the best way to attach them? I would assume it's ill-advised for the slots in the Phillips head screws to fill with glue. Would it be best to place something between the top of the screw and the bottom of the dot? How do the professional reso builders accomplish this?

One method is to force WAX down into where ever you don't want adhesion, Vaseline will do the same.
