I am interested in running blackface Twin and a Peavey Nashville 400 together. What would I need to do to eliminate hum and out of phase speakers

Thanks

David..If your volume pedal is equipped with two output jacks, I would suggest simply running one amp from each output.

You need to lift the ground on one amp only. Use one of those 3 prong adapters. Remember, ONLY ONE AMP

Sometimes effect pedals have two outputs and you could use those outlets to plug in the two amps.

Also, if you are perhaps using a homemade extension cord make certain that the hot (black) and neutral (white) wires are not reversed on one end. The wider of the two blades should be neutral

And that puts you in danger of electrocution, Lyle.

Yes it most certainly does! You are fine to lift the ground on just one amp if you are playing two. If you have noise while you single amp is grounded you have issue with that amp. I know as I repair that stuff daily

I run two amps using a Goodrich volume pedal with two outputs and run one amp through an Ebtech Hum X Hum Exterminator. Works great with almost all 2 amp combinations that I've tried.

50 yrs and still yet to receive a shock. 99% of the places I play don't have the ground hooked up anyway. At 62 yrs of age I know of no one that is dead from shock playing music. Not saying that it would not be possible but the odds are against it. I thought I read somewhere by one of the greats if using an extension cord of some type use it and lift the ground on all other things in the chain or you will get noise.

Whoah nelly ,,its not that complicated ,
If your using , a reverb pedal , just run your volume pedal to the input side of the reverb pedal and the 2 outs will run to both amps
(1 out to each amp) , O.M.G. dont over think it

Yes use a stereo out pedal. I recommend against lifting the ground unless you want to play Russian roulette with electricity and meet your maker sooner than planned.

Does it get complicated if you have six effects pedals and want to run one amp dry and one amp wet and you don't have two outs on your volume pedal?

I guess you would go into all six pedals and into the first amp, choose any of the six pedals that has two outputs and run from that output into the second amp? And, eliminate the ground on one of the amps?

Can you also go from the volume pedal into the first amp, come out of the back of the first amp into all six pedals and into the second amp? Using two Nashville 400's as an example.

Charlie is right. Your best solution is a Lehle. They work great for running two amps.

I used to run a pair of NV400's from the dual outputs of a Stereo Chorus Pedal. Also was using a Digital Delay at the time. Chorus Pedal would sound like a fake stereo system. Amps would sweep back and forth. Miced out through a PA would have the same result. Was doing this back in the early 90's before I was using a DPC750 and and ProFexII running a pair of 15" BW enclosures.

I use a Bigshot ABY box, I know there are other safe ways but I chose this thinking it is simple and safe. I hope I am correct.
