What does "wraparound" refer to and why are these so cherished? Thanks.

Jim, wrap around actually refers to the type neck or changer on guitar. Wrap arounds are rare and are known for their tone. They are some of the very first Emmons guitars made. Can't remember the number but think only around 40 were made. There are 3 types of Emmons push pull changers, wrap around, bolt on and cut tail. Here's some pics of all three types.

Steve, if you are worried about hyper inflation, this '65 wrap is way to go, because unlike the money, which is worth pretty much, only as much as the paper that is printed on, this wrap will always hold its value, and not only that, but it will actually increase in value over time, pretty good investment if you ask me...

Why does everyone think it's ok to make comments and snark about the pricing on Damir's steel? It seems to me that it's between him and any potential buyer, alone, to figure and discuss pricing.

Most other forums I belong to, this is a definite "No-no!"

Good luck with the sale. This is a beauty! That we all can agree on.

No one is flaming Damir here. It was an honest question. And it was true. The price had risen 50% over night. I, as someone who has been in contact with Damir regarding this guitar at the lower price and am thus a possible buyer, was curious. He answered satisfactorily and that was that. I think Damir can probably defend himself in the matter, not that a defense is needed. I do notice you made a comment asking why these guitars are so cherished, while I assume this is an innocent question, I imagine some could misconstrue it as snarky just as easily. Especially when a simple search would answer your question if you really wanted to know, as it's been discussed many many times before. And indeed it is a beautiful guitar.

in my life there was things I could afford, then some things I could only dream about, and then some, I couldn't even dream about...owning a completely restored 1965 Emmons wraparound is none of those, it is in complete separate category... category on its own... I could sell it, and invest that money, but when am I ever going to have a chance to own guitar like this again? probably never. .. that is why I have a hard time letting it go...and if I do, I better have a damn good reason for doing it, or I will never forgive myself...I am going to remove the price now, since it seems to cause unnecessary stress to me...serious buyers are welcome to contact me, and we can discuss the price...

Damir, Sorry for the lighthearted attempt at humor which may have missed the mark with at least one of those who commented. It was in no way meant to cause you stress, Damir. Stevet

Steve, trying to make up my mind about selling or keeping this guitar is causing me stress, not you or anybody else...no need to apologize

Thank you Steve... It seems Mike was restoring this guitar as a gift to Buddy, but Buddy left us before he got the chance to play it ... that makes it even more special...at last it does to me...
