I would still choose the Oahu Diana . The Oahu Diana is nice on the eyes - sounds great - feels good too the fingers. I have a Mint 1938 Rickenbacher Panda 6 string but will still choose the Oahu Diana

So after reading some inspirational words from Barney Kessel I have put my instrument collection days

May I ask what the words were (I can dig where you are coming from. That's not to knock others who use a variety of instruments, but your focus is valid too and I can see the hazards of distraction -- we evaluate, make our deicisons and move forward)

I'll check and get some of the stories from the Wolf Marshall book I received.

For those that didn't know. He used pretty much one main Gibson for his entire career with a Charlie Christian Pickup.

The Barney Kessel Signature guitar was designed without his input before it was even a signature guitar. They contacted Barney used his name and gave him a guitar for using his name. (Hardly Fair)

Anyway his Gibson battle would lead him to eventually put sticky tape over the Gibson logo on his main guitar and would regularly moan about the company because of it.

When asked about gear he cared little about it more about making music and wanted to be known as a musician and not a guitarist.

There are some great Barney Kessel stories in the book by Wolf Marshall.

I remember installing an Attila Zoller pickup for someone and it was really inconveniently phased (and IIRC not reversible without having to rework it) and
years later my complaint made it to him and he was along the lines of "yeah, i can't really get them to switch it"
