I just purchased a Mullen G2 that hasn't arrived yet. I play a standard Emmons copedent but this guitar has the E's on the Right leg which in turn I suspect the other changes are on the Left leg. I will have to re-work this whole guitar.
My question is this. Will I have substantial Hardware to get this to Emmons setup with all normal changes? Or will I need to order different length rods? I am thinking I will be ok but I have never done this before and would like to acquire the necessary Hardware whilst the guitar is in transit. Thanks a bunch.

Chances are you won't need any new parts. I suspect most of the changes you're planning to move around have two pulls per lever. In that case it is usually just a matter of re-positioning the bell cranks on the various cross shafts to correspond with the pulls you want on them, then re-installing the correct length pullrods for each.
If you need more pulls on a particular lever than it currently hosts, you will need to fabricate new pullrods for those. If you end up with an extra rod that is longer than one you need you can obviously shorten it. If you need more pulls in total than the combined levers currently host, you will obviously need new bell cranks for those.
Think of the pullrods in terms of the lever they serve (by way of their length), rather than the pulls they produce. Specific pulls can be changed on a whim. |

I'd g t a square, and measure the distance between the front apron and where the bellcranks are.
It's easier than eyeballing or trial and error to getting the pulls straight. But it should be easy. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Good Idea. I still have my Current G2 in my possession(for a very short while) But I plan on Taking measurements and lots of pictures. Heck, If I do a good enough job of documentation I may be able to just use the photos and make it easy as pie!

I'm sort of in the same situation as I'm buying Jeffs red G2 and would like to change the Franklin pedal from p1 to p4. This may change once I play it of course. Im pretty excited to get the G2. My current and only steel ive played is the zumsteel stage one purchased a year and a half ago. |

Joe, either print out or not down all those measurements that Jeff just shared. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Yes Joe It will prove invaluable. I am excited to do the switch as it will be a great education.
I have only worked on Push pull emmons and this seems different but less complicated. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

Mullen guitars are easy. I've changed things around on mine just by following the rodding chart. I also wrote down where things were before I undid anything. |
