Happy birthday to the man, the myth, the legend.
as classy and good humored as he was talented beyond belief. he's the reason a lot of us are here, and he's the one we all want to emulate.
there just aren't adequate words to describe his impact or his abilities, so I'll stop here and let his music and his smile speak for him instead. thank you Buddy, from the bottom of my heart.

I could always remember Buddy Emmons birthday since it was a day before mine. I was so blessed to see him several times at steel shows and even at a seminar in the 1980's. Buddy is a man that is definitely missed. I always tell people Buddy had everything a steel player strives for. He could play slow, fast, was highly accomplished on both necks, could play different styles of music and had the best tone we all look for. There are so many of us who play some of his licks and try to play many that are complicated. My opinion he was the best ever on steel guitar. |
