| I currently play a D10 Derby but I am looking for a lighter steel to carry to some of my gigs. I dont want to sacrifice the great derby sound. Any comments on the stage one? |

If you are accustomed to split tuning, I'd suggest one of the all-pull fly/economy pro guitars, like the Encore, Justice ProLite or Mullen Discovery.
If you don't use splits, get the Stage One: pull-release tone is exceptional.

I'm 72 years old Greg and I wouldn't take a S-10 of anything free and sacrifice the tone and playing ability of my push pull D-10 but that's just me. I don't know your physical state and you may not be able to carry a heavy guitar. Then the stage one or any mentioned would fill the bill. But don't think they will sound like your Derby. I had a little Sho-Bud 6139 that sounded awesome and they can usually be picked up at a decent price if you find one fully equipped.
One thing I do to cut down on carrying a heavy guitar is I don't put mine is case, I carry it set up which I know is frowned upon by many here on forum. A D-10 in a case is a heavy sucker and with out a dolly, really hard and heavy to carry. Besides that, I can be set up in 5 minutes. But, most of my gigs are withing 15 minutes of house.

A Stage One is all I've ever know, and I really like mine.
Knee levers are something you may want to think about though, since you are accustomed to the placement of knee levers on a D10, you may feel a little bit cramped on the stage one, or find that the levers are a little more difficult to use where they are.
I'm 6'0 and I found my RKR lever a little awkward to push comfortably, so I had to put a flag on it, as an extender, and now it feels great. I ended up putting one on my LKL as well. Of course, I have to take these off every time I put the guitar in the case, which is multiple times a week, so it can get kind of tedious.

You might be able to rejigger your flags to fold for storage, or get Zum-style flags. Mine are fixed but don't hinder folding.
