The opening line is "I can't stop lovin' you just like that....old habits are hard to break"......

Cool song and good steel.

I can't recall anything like that from the '60s.

Maybe this one, from 1980?

Here ya go,

Wes Buchanan with I think Gene Davis singing harmony.
Maybe Mooney on steel but I'm not sure. I have a copy
of this one but there's no harmonica on the version I have.

Thanks so much Scott !! I haven't heard this record for almost 50 years. It was played on a small market Country Station here in Bakersfield. This site is friggin'unbelievable. Thanks again Scott and for all of you that replied.

Best.

Wow, rare bird! I've never heard of that one before. It probably didn't get much airplay here in the east. Crying or Very sad

Good "Mooney-licks" though.

Gary,

I have two 45s by this Bakersfield guy. There's not much on the internet about him. I found one advert for him playing at a place called the Alley Cat in the Bakersfield
newspaper from the early sixties.

Did he ever get any local airplay?

Scott,

I really like that song !! Great West Coast Steel. I'm sorry, I don't remember the name Wayne Morris. I'll ask around and get back to you if I learn anything.

Never heard that one before, I like it! There's probably hundreds of great records like this out that almost nobody ever noticed.

Kind Regards, Walter

Gary, I worked with Wayne here in Bakersfield. He worked all the clubs on Edison Hwy, and there were several. He later moved to the Salinas area
