Great, great song that unbelievably received little air play when it was released. The steel player is sensational and played with such emotion and feel. Anybody know who it is?? Also, there's a picture of a man playing his steel in the picture. Who might that be ??

Thanks.

Isn't that Lloyd Green on steel?

Has a lot of the Jimmy Day sound to my ears. Don't know for sure. Just a guess.

The middle break sounds like Dicky Overbey.

Usually I don't have a clue about who played steel by listening to a record , with the exception of Ralph Mooney , but this sounds just like Lloyd Green from his " The Hit Sounds" LP. The picture of the steel player in the video looks like him as well.

Bobby Lord. What a great voice. He hit those high notes, kept right on them as they should be sung. Even in his "later years" the phrasing and quality was still there. Country as it should be before "The Suits" took over.

Sounds a lot like Dickey Overbey to me all through the record. I have seen Dickey Many times the past 20 years, and he could sound like Jimmy if he wanted too.

That's not Lloyd in the video. My guess would be Hal Rugg that we're hearing. Sure is sweet!

I'm pretty sure it's Walter Haynes.

Sounds like Hal to me too. Even my wife said it sounded like the player on Loretta Lynn's records.

I assume Bryant was talking about the guy who's shown in the video.

Sounds a bit restrained for Hal Rugg IMO.

This is a track off a Bobby Lord L.P. from the 60's. One of my favourite albums. Some tasteful playing from Hal.
Don't know if it's available still, but worth it if you can find it.
