Here's my Weissenborn arrangement of seven classic film & TV Western themes for lap steel that appears in my book, "18 Arrangements for Dobro & Weissenborn Acoustic Lap Steel Guitar." I played it on my 1997 Bear Creek in Open D tuning (D,A,D,F#,A,D) low-to-Hi.

The songs are:
1. Red River Valley
2. Have Gun will Travel
3. Rawhide
3. The Rifleman
4. The Good, The Bad & the Ugly
5.The Magnificent Seven
6. Hang 'Em High
7. High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)

I tend to play it a little differently each time so there's a tiny bit of variance to the exact printed arrangement but it's pretty close. If you have the book, in "High Noon", I added a turnaround with these major chords: G, D, E, A.

Great tunes. I grew up hearing all of these songs. The Magnificent Seven theme was nominated for an Oscar back in the 60s. It's the best part of the movie! It still sounds fresh and exciting today.

Yes, the Magnificent Seven theme seems to sum up the grandeur of the Western landscape about as well as any ever written. The recent remake the 1960 film was really disappointing - and they wasted the theme on the end credits.

I really loved the country and eastern tinged High Noon, one of my favorites. Cool works.
