I don't know about cowboy church but I've been playing guitar at the free will baptist church I attend. It all sounds like country music and they let me do a lot of chicken pickin on my guitar. I just bought a pedal steel and will play that in the band also. It sure is a lot of fun. _________________ Them sad ole sounds coming out of those speakers was solid country gold. |

I've been thinking about getting into this, lately. My good friend Bob Poole, plays in his church in SC. The city that's on the coast? Can't remember @ the moment??
I'm not sure if this goes over/on, in this part of Arizona or not?
I'd love to do this for many reasons. Does anyone in my area, know of any churches that have a live band...& would like a Pedal Steel Guitar in the band? I NEED, to be out in the public again, playing my steel. I'm searching for a regular band situation at the moment, or a Duo type situation...but, I would also enjoy being around fellow Christians, on Sunday's, now more than ever...& hopefully making folks happy with my/our music.
If anyone in my area, of Mesa...or the surrounding areas, knows anything about this...please contact me. I'd really appreciate it!
These are REALLY bad times in America...& the world. Being in Church & playing music, would really be a good thing for me...& others at the church.
Thank you. [/quote] _________________ David "DJ" Rupert

If you can't find a church, I'd check some nursing homes or senior citizen centers. They would love to have you.
You talk about a captive audience, when those wheel chairs start rolling in and they lock the wheels, there's no way they can escape! |
