| Very cool. I'm not dobroesque, but I have enough lap steels available for tuning <strike>abominations</strike> /experiments - what gauge and tuning is your second string? I have never been able to get those behind-the-bar string pulls to work without munching my finger or other assorted disasters. Do you... train it or something? Ninja-finger? |

my second string is a plain steel guage 020 and the tuning is GBDGAD low to high. I pull the string behind the bar up one note with the ringfinger of my left hand. Most people think using a thinner string makes the pulls easier because the string preassure is softer. But I found out that for getting the destinate note when pulling the string you have to bend the string much more with a thinner guage and it finaly hurts more. So for me 020 is just right.
