Mine is so severe that hearing test are useless. My tinnitis is louder, way louder, than the test tones. People who have tested me have asked, after the test, if I'm reading their lips! At the base, there is the sound similar to air rushing thru a heating vent, Towards the right bside is a sound that is like the winding up of a jet engine. It's also to the left, but not quite as loud. there are pinging and ringing on the right, and beeping that sounds like telegraph signals. :Lots of clicking sounds too. On the left, the high freq too, but also tapping that sounds like someone pounding in tent stakes next door. Aloso musical tones going up and down the scale. All in all, it's louder than people speak. I have friends who no longer come ove because a conversation is pretty impossible unless they really up their volume. A tough way to live!

Tinnitus can be aggravated by NSAIDs too and I notice mine is aggravated by Aleve, Ibuprofen and the like. There is some current research that supports this too. Just a hint. II sees that I am not alone in this struggle. I rarely play loudly anymore and avoid loud shows anymore as that really ups the ante.

It does give me some comfort to see others are struggling with this. I rarely play loudly anymore and avoid loud shows anymore as that really ups the ante.

I do not mean I get pleasure from the misery of others and apologize for the poor phrasing in my post. I meant that I don't feel so alone, that's all.

Sorry,

Steve

Shades of Freud!

Barry wasn't offended, Stephen, he just likes to use schadenfreude as do many of us, there are so few opportunities.
