It’s not a huge collection, or a hugely valuable collection, but I think it’s a nice little collection.

A very nice collection, Allan. Thanks for posting photos.
Which one is your favorite?
Friend to all,

Thanks C.E.! I suppose if I had to choose just one to be my favorite, it would be the Rickenbacher B7. Fortunately, I don’t need to choose! _________________ Current Tunings:

Wow Allen that is a nice group of guitars.
I R jealous. Very very nice collection you have. They all look to be in pristine condition.
I also have 7 guitars but 6 of mine are basically rescues from the trash heap.
Rather a sad looking bunch but they all play.
We talked a bit a few weeks ago in a thread about the Fouke you just received. Hope you are enjoying it.
Well, it is about 2 months out but I will be receiving that baritone with benders I mentioned.
To say I am excited is an understatement. _________________ I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying. |

Hey Larry, the camera is being very kind! They are all in very good condition, but only the Fouke is in pristine condition. I think that you’ll love your Fouke. I love mine! |

Allan, recognizing the likelihood your Bakelite is in a class unto itself (mine certainly is), can you compare and contrast your preferences between the BR-9, Champ, Skylark, and Valco? |

I would have liked to do a couple more takes, but the BR9 suddenly developed pot problems and started cutting in and out. Anyway here are the BR9, Skylark, and Champ one after the other. The P90 on the BR9 has the most beef, but unfortunately as mentioned, I think its tone may be compromised by the bad pot(s). The Skylark is the quietest, but also the cleanest I think. The Fender is hotter and has some twang. It also seems to be more trebly than the other two. For now, I think I prefer the Skylark... but I can definitely see times when I might want the more cutting tone of the Champ.
Here’s my comparison video. Sloppier than I would have liked, but you’ll at least hear all three.

Shoot some of this into where the shaft enters the housing, work the shaft back and forth, and chances are it'll be as good as new.
