Kudos to Forumite Mike Neer on his glowing review by Dan Forte in new Feb. '17 Vintage Guitar Magazine. "Not merely one of the best instrumental CDs of the year, Steelonius is one of the year's best CDs, period." Good on ya, bro.

I've known Dan Forte for at least 30 years, and he's a total guitar geek, with specialties in 60s surf music and totally kitsch Japanese multi-knobbed guitar abominations from the same era. As well as gigging professionally under the moniker Teisco Del Rey, he's written great stuff for VGM for years and never shies away from reviewing esoteric yet very valuable music he comes across. A true blessing to the niche guitar music market.

His review of Mike's CD is spot-on, of course.

This is such fun, reading major reviews who hint at style and range and return to the theme that this isn't a jazz album
but an album of Monk's music. Kudos to the critics who relate it to others.
(I recall that in the '60s the music press, particularly in HiFi Stereo Review, were responsible for a lot of jazz and classical sales.)

Not that this is about money! (It's all jazz to me.)

An excellent review for such an excellent record. Mike, it really si a superior piece of recorded music. Dan Forte has been supportive of my music over the years, and I am grateful for it. The music knowledge he brings to his writing is astonishing.
Kudos to you Mike!

Just stuck it back in the car CD player this afternoon and marveled at how good and fun it is. The tunes grow on you, especially if you're fairly un-hip to Monk. But the real cool thing is that Mike made each one of them his own and never plays more than what's called for. Good work.

Great album Mike. Very happy to see that it has transcended the confines of the steel guitar world. Hopefully more recognition for this fine record are in store come 2017.

Thank you, everyone. I've already got another couple of CDs planned, so I guess their fate lies in the sales of this one and all the attention I can get from it.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year to everyone.
