Topic: My Webb cabinet clone |

I have a Webb cabinet that was custom made as its an insulated closed back and two inches wider than a standard Webb cabinet. I liked it enough to build a clone. The one on the right is the original and on the left is my clone.

Guys, thanks for the compliments! I purchased the name plate and a set of Webb knobs last year here on the forum. I did use 3/4 birch except for the grill frame I used poplar since it's so durable. I didn't weigh it yet but it's the same as the original cabinet give it take a pound. I haven't had the chance to try it out yet but plan on it this evening. I have an original cone JBL K-130 with the center cap changed to felt which, to my ears, sounds warmer than the aluminum cap. The other cab has an JBL E-130 so should be a pretty good mix! 
This was the first closed back that I applied tolex without any seams on the rear just like the original. They did such a nice job and it was a challenge to emulate. They put the seams on top about 3/4 inch from the edge and I elected to put the seams on the side 3/4 inch from the edge. They overlapped the bottom with an extra piece of tolex and stapled the tolex whereas I elected to place two seams like on the side and no staples or extra tolex. Again, thanks for the kind words.

| Put them side by side, and you can't tell the difference. Great Job. I put a 500 watt GK amp and an eminence lt. weight speaker in the cabinet I got from you and it works great. |
