I see Roger. My bad, but none of this is helping Barrett sell his guitar. I, like Bobby, should have known better.

Not individually, perhaps, Jerry, but keeping the thread alive and at the top of 'Buy & Sell' can't hurt.

I apologise for my outburst.

Well, here I go again adding to the confusion. I think Damir's comments concerned an ad for a wrap that he posted. Still, point taken.

I haven't noticed any really negative comments on Barrett's ad, mostly just irrelevant, and so to restate....should've stayed clear.

I feel, the same as Roger when he said: "An item as remarkable as this is going to excite all sorts of comments. It would be a shame if people didn't feel that the discussion was an open one - even if our interest is purely as spectators this sort of rarity is enjoyable to look at and, even, offer an opinion or two. ". I feel this also applies to steels which are priced much less.

And as was mentioned by Bobby Boggs, if a person wants to spend that much for a guitar, he is not going to be dissuaded by someone who says he think it is too much.

Personally, when I post instruments to sell on The Forum, I welcome comments as to price, condition, additional information to add or about mistakes I have made in the listing.

Good luck with the Emmons sale, Barrett

I think the price for a rare vintage steel such as this is in line for sure. Go to Gruhn's sometime if you visit Nashville, or Carter's Vintage guitars. Look at prices for guitars no where near as rare as this and 10-12K doesn't seem so bad. Good luck with sale, you have a nice old Emmons...

I'd buy this guitar in a heartbeat if I had the cash.
