Hey guys! My wife and I are taking a trip from Ireland to the States on Monday and we'll be passing through the following towns:

San Francisco, CA

Flagstaff, AZ

Albuquerque, NM

Santa Fe, NM

Austin, TX

Can anyone good music stores to visit to try out some steels?

Lastly, any good steel players playing in one of these towns in the next three weeks?

Thanks! Isaac

San Francisco has a few stores that might be worth investigating, but most of the great stores are just outside the city. Try Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto (near Stanford University).

How long will you be in San Francisco? Feel free to PM me for details and suggestions.

Really nice tune and Ricky, what tasteful absolutely perfect fills you played on this song. The old Bud sounds great.

If you're interested in steel you might want to skip the rest of your tour and just spend the whole time in Austin.

Isaac, two guitar stores that I know of in Santa Fe: The Candyman, the bigger store, and High Desert Guitars, the more likely to have interesting instruments store. They are located very close to each other. You can call them for exact locations and hours.

Here is some information on what is going on around Santa Fe town:
http://www.santafenewmexican.com/pasatiempo/

If you are still in the area this next weekend, I will be playing guitar and lap guitar at the Galleria Arriba at the Abiquiu Inn on Saturday 05 November from 5 to 7:30 for an artist reception and gallery opening. That is about an hour north (driving time) from Santa Fe.

Have a good trip and please enjoy your stay in the US. Cool
