Today I received a robo call saying the license for windows was expiring and left an 800 number to call. I have a laptop with Win 7 that is about 8yrs. old. I have never heard of having to renew a license when it was on the computer when I bought it. Has anyone received similar calls? I did not call nor do I intend to call. This seems like a scam to me. |

It is a scam.
If you want a few cheap laughs, you might play stupid for a while just to see how much time you can get them to waste on you before they give up.
Microsoft isn't going to call you. Windows licenses don't "expire". |

Yeah, I'd ignore it. As Mitch said, MS doesn't do business that way.

Yet. I'm still waiting to see what MS decides to do next - Win10 is the first time they gave away a new OS version. Speculation on the net is rampant about the prospect of going "subscription", like other vendors have, Adobe being one notable. |
