2016 Super Event Review
Friday: July 29, 2016
our Chaplain, Jeremiah Hanley started the weekend with a prayer followed by a statement by our President, Terry Bethel. Fri morning players were: Steve Melchi, Bruce Hoffman (Kenny Parrot sang), Keenan Friday, Janet Wise, Bob Tuttle and Buck Grantham!
Charlie Steichen & Venda Hanley presented Roy Rosetta with Honoree of the Year Award.
Afternoon players were: Joe Wright, Joe Savage, Mike McGee, Jacob King (Jason King vocals & Max King bass & vocals), Jerry Newberry (Donna Newberry vocals), Terry Wood & Walenia Band (Buddy Lewis bass), Mike Sigler, Larry Toliver/Steve Palousek ended the day.
E9th Seminar was hosted by Steve Palousek and Larry Toliver only 4 players but was filled with lots of information..
Saturday: July 30,2016
Morning players: Keith Hilton (Erie Jackson vocals), JoAnn Kreder, Linda Wright (Richard Wright-Sax), Jerry Smyth (Jim Rawlins vocals), Wayne Massengale & Charlie Steichen presented Eddie Lane with Player of the Year Award then Eddie played, Lunch Break
Afternoon players: Joe Wright, Grand Country Band (Gene Mulvaney, Wayne Massengale, Garrett Massengale, Melody Hart, Chad Cathell, Rob Blackburn, Larry Allred & our own Roy Rosetta, a special thanks to Billy Yates vocals), Jack Musgrave, Joan Cox(Frank Walmhoff vocals), Johnny Cox, Robbie Springfield (Kari Garrison-vocals & Rick McClure bass and vocals, Gary Ash vocals), 4 Steels-Gene Mulvaney, Larry Toliver, Steve Palousek, Mike Sigler & Dean Holman. What a special treat for the crowd!
Jam Session hosted by Steve Melchi had 7 players: Linda Wright, Keenan Friday, Jeremiah Hanley, Steve Palousek, Beverley Harris, JoAnn Kreder, and Larry Garrett...
Sunday: July 31, 2016
Church Service was done by Jeremiah & Venda Hanley and as usual was beautiful.
Players were: Joe Savage. Mike McGee(Jason King vocals & Max King vocals & bass), Steve Palousek(Donna Palousek vocals), Larry Toliver, Dean Holman, Pizza Break, Buck Grantham, Michael T Hermsmeyer, Janet Wise(Buddy Lewis vocals), Mike Sigler closed the show!!!
The Association would like to thank the 50/50 winners,
Bruce & Denise Lillis, from Lakeview, Ar and Floyd & Wanda Stevenson from Sedalia, Mo for donating their winnings back to the Association....THANKS!
Thanks to the Ozark Steel Guitar Association for all the work they do to put this together each year! Terry out did himself with the players this year. Thanks to all the band: Dino Strunk, Wayne & Garrett Massengale, Jimmy Hyde, Derrek Phillips, Russ Burns, Russ Wever, and Roy Rosetta and Buddy Lewis! Thanks Buddy for providing us with a sound system also! Thanks to all the ladies who provided us with snacks all weekend! Thanks to all the workers who helped move equipment, and all the vendors(some who stayed till the last note was played)...AND a BIG Thank you to the Stone Castle Hotel & Convention Center for the great venue and for being so friendly and helpful to the guests and providing the coffee for us!!!!
