Okay folks, 290 lookers and so far two players?????
Perhaps there's a bunch of you 'ol Dads and Moms and Grandparents rushing out to take fresh pictures now that you met our prodigies.
How about the rest of you...let's see some fun pictures of the up and coming players.
We have two!! They will surely be in big demand and shall be very busy.
Hey Jack G, why not put your wonderful picture of your granddaughter on here too?
Thanks Norbert, great picture.

Here's my six-month old grandson (Caleb) picking on the C6th neck on an 1981 Emmons Push Pull. He's especially fond of this neck on account of his limited reach capabilities. Here, he's doing his rendition of Night Life by Buddy Emmons.

We've started introducing him to the concept of the steel bar, but he seems more content THROWING IT than sliding it across the strings!

Caleb has stated his major influences are John Hughey, Paul Franklin, Buddy Emmons, Mike Johnson, Tommy White, and Grandpa.

We'll be introducing him to the Steel Guitar Jamboree in Dallas sometime in the next few years to keep fueling his passion for the instrument!

Grandpa recently purchased him a Rains D-10 that he's using at home. He loves the sweet tone of the Rains and feels the notes ring clear and sharp up-and-down the neck. Caleb's amp choices are still up in the air, but he believes a Walker Stereo Steel Combo, Milkman Half and Half, Little Walter 89, Quilter Steelaire, Peavey LTD 400, or a Blackface Fender Twin Reverb will fit the bill. He prefers JBL K-130s or D-130Fs for speaker choice.

This is Caleb's latest publicity photo that he will be sending to Albert Talley for the 2017 or 2018 steel show.

Norbert: what a beautiful young lady and steel player to boot!

Dick: Joe looks to be taking to the C6th neck as well. Maybe it's a good idea to start there and work toward the E9th as he gets older! This way he'll be proficient on both necks.

Oh yes, get those big rich fat chords a workin'. Can't wait to see how their unique styles of playing will continue to develop.

What a joy this is to see. Won't be long they'll be teaching us new tricks. Smile

I'm thinking maybe shortening the pedal rods a tad may speed things up too, or borrow one of those multi-benders off a lap steel for Hector Joe, he's got a mean hammerin' hand already.
He has a real headstart with tuning the strings too! Whoa! Laughing

Hector Joe just dropped by and insisted on finger picks to fit him, no kidding. So I shaped two plastic picks for him. Now to find and shape a small thumb pick.
He is using a small Paloma Stone Bar.

Abe Levy, Great photo, reminds me of early Jimmy Day left hand bar hold and concentration. New England player seems to be reaching for the neck with 4 strings but without the steel. Being from New England myself, I've forgotten many times just what that steel bar is used for. JayY.

Dick - that little guy on the dual 8 is my son Foxton. He's five. Thanks Jay! His main axe is a 50s fender champ, but I just refurbed a '65 Emmons Warapround- which will be his first pedal guitar. Once he can reach the pedals.... (I have a 2" under setup but it's still too tall)
